Recycled Wall Clock Design by John Green

November 08, 2010 By: Ryan Posted in: Appliances

John Green have produced stylish wall clock for your home appliance. This decorative piece is an unusual attention grabber that is also functional for telling you the time. The Clock is made of waste birch faced plywood and white acrylic that is used to conceal the Quarts mechanism right in the middle of the O letter. The ‘clock’ is an idea that came as a bit of fun when ‘designing with waste’. The idea is to create simple products from materials that would otherwise be disregarded. The aesthetics of ‘clock’ are based purely on the typeface ‘helvetica’. The idea is to utilise the letter ‘o’ as the clock face with the other letters being decorative. The letters and hands are CNC cut from waste birch faced plywood and white acrylic has been used to conceal the Quartz mechanism in the centre of the ‘o’.
